Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Fractional Controller to lead financial operations and ensure the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of our financial reporting. This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide strategic financial oversight across multiple organizations on a part\-time basis. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in accounting, financial analysis, and regulatory compliance, with the ability to manage complex financial systems and teams remotely. As a key member of our finance leadership, you will drive financial excellence, streamline processes, and support organizational growth through expert financial management.
Duties
- Oversee all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger management, balance sheet reconciliation, accounts payable and receivable processing, and month\-end close procedures.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes\-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements relevant to nonprofit, governmental, and corporate sectors.
- Lead financial reporting efforts by preparing accurate financial statements, management reports, and regulatory filings with clarity and precision.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, treasury management, and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and cash management strategies.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure regulatory compliance; conduct risk assessments related to financial operations.
- Coordinate with external auditors during audits; facilitate audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Supervise and mentor accounting teams remotely; foster collaboration across multiple organizations while managing deadlines efficiently.
- Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms; analyze Excel data for insights that inform strategic decision\-making.
- Drive continuous improvement in accounting systems and processes; implement best practices for cost accounting analysis, technical accounting issues, and regulatory reporting.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controller or senior finance leader with a strong background in public accounting or corporate finance.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, governmental accounting standards, and nonprofit accounting principles.
- Demonstrated expertise in financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or equivalent systems; proficiency in Excel data analysis is essential.
- Strong understanding of double entry bookkeeping, general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes.
- Experience managing accounting teams remotely across multiple organizations; excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams virtually.
- Familiarity with budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, cost accounting analysis, regulatory compliance accounting, and treasury management.
- Exceptional attention to detail combined with strong written communication skills for preparing comprehensive financial reports.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems and processes while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance.

Pay: $175\.00 \- $195\.00 per hour
