Syncopated Synergy is looking to add an Interim/Fractional Controller to our team. This is a hands\-on, roll\-up\-your\-sleeves role where you will lead the client’s accounting and finance operations, partner with our CFO or senior leadership, and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting during the assignment. You will have the opportunity to work with clients across a variety of industries and company sizes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead month, quarter, and year\-end close cycles
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Oversee GL reconciliation and preparation of financial statements
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow monitoring
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and audit readiness
• Assist in annual audits and tax filingsRecommend improvements to accounting systems, processes, and procedures
• Mentor accounting staff, and ensure smooth hand\-off to permanent team
• Perform other accounting duties as assigned by CFO or senior leadership
• Document processes and prepare for smooth hand\-off to permanent finance leadership

Competencies \& Qualities

• Strong written and verbal business acumen
• Strategic thinking and problem\-solving skills
• Deep understanding of GAAP, GL oversight, and internal controls
• Strong attention to detail and organization
• Tech\-savvy with proficiency in QuickBooks, NetSuite, Bill.com, Expensify, and similar
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Clear and concise communication skills

Required Education \& Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting (required)5–10\+ years of experience in accounting leadership rolesExperience managing full accounting operations, close cycles, and audits
• Colorado residents will be considered first

Engagement Details

• Contract (1099\) status or W2 Hourly
• Assignment typically 3–9 months
• Compensation based on experience, typical range is $70\-$90/hr
