VP, Startup Finance & Corporate Infrastructure (Fractional) - Wellness & Impact

RemoteVP Level

About This Role

At the heart of Wholosophy is a profound respect for the human experience and a belief that finding a path to wellness should be far easier to navigate than it is today.

Anyone who has tried to get to the root of a health challenge, for themselves or someone they love, knows how much can be at stake. People often don’t know what options exist, how to make sense of them, which practitioners are the right fit, or where to find people who understand and support their journey. The landscape is fragmented, and what gets found is not always what best serves the person.

Wholosophy is a whole\-system approach to help people find, understand and connect around wellness. It is designed for the whole person, with ethics, neutrality, accessibility and inclusivity central to its foundation. This approach comes from seeing how much is lost when people and systems are treated as disconnected pieces.

Wholosophy is the next evolution of our earlier wellness\-industry ventures, informed by thousands of practitioner and customer conversations and built to address some of the deeper challenges in the wellness journey.

The platform is one part of a broader, integrated solution spanning technology, user experience and go\-to\-market programs, designed to bring this vision into the world thoughtfully and at scale. Wholosophy is now ready for commercialization, with enormous opportunity to shape what comes next.

Our culture is kind\-hearted and audacious, strategic and intuitive, grounded in candor, integrity, independent thinking and genuine care for one another.

Wholosophy is a for\-profit Delaware Public Benefit Corporation.

Role Overview

For our next stage of growth, we’re looking for a senior startup finance leader to serve as a strategic partner to the founder across financial strategy, growth readiness, fundraising, and leadership transition. You’ll help translate the company’s ambitions into the financial and corporate priorities, planning and infrastructure required to scale.

Our infrastructure was built to a sophisticated standard with scale in mind. You’ll bring key areas current, extend that foundation for the demands ahead, and ensure the company is ready to move as opportunities open.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with the founder on financial strategy, capital planning and growth scenarios, translating company priorities into clear financial and corporate action.
  • Bring current and reconcile the cap table, SAFEs, option pool, and related equity and financing records.
  • Update and maintain financial projections, assumptions, runway, cash planning and funding scenarios.
  • Take hands\-on ownership of accounting and financial processes, bringing work current and building the appropriate longer\-term infrastructure.
  • Prepare and manage investor diligence, including the data room and supporting financial, equity, legal and corporate materials.
  • Anticipate and prepare for evolving investor, reporting and governance needs as funding activity increases.
  • Build the corporate infrastructure needed to transfer founder\-held responsibilities into the company’s next leadership structure.
  • Bring the founder distilled recommendations and decisions: what is complete, what is moving forward, and what genuinely requires founder input.

Qualifications

  • Significant hands\-on experience inside a scrappy early\-stage startup, ideally at the seed stage through early growth, with a track record of building structure as the company evolves.
  • Strong fluency in startup finance, SAFEs, cap tables, equity, option pools, dilution and fundraising mechanics.
  • Experience supporting fundraising and investor diligence, including financial and corporate readiness.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, runway and cash\-planning skills.
  • Comfortable owning accounting and financial processes hands\-on, including bringing work current when needed.
  • Working knowledge of startup corporate, equity and governance matters and the judgment to recognize what needs attention.
  • Strong communicator who can distill complex financial and corporate matters into clear recommendations and decision points for founders, investors and other stakeholders.
  • Highly organized and detail\-oriented, with strong quality control and exceptional follow\-through.
  • Proactive and self\-directed; able to move fluidly between strategic thinking and detailed execution, anticipate what needs to happen, and independently drive it forward.
  • Collaborative and low\-ego, with sound judgment and a genuine connection to our mission.

Especially Valuable

  • Experience as the senior finance/corporate owner inside a small seed\-stage company.
  • Experience joining a company at an inflection point, working hands\-on while strengthening the financial and corporate foundation for substantial growth.
  • Experience with significant fundraising events, founder transitions, or board/governance preparation.

Compensation

This role begins as a fractional position compensated with significant stock options. As we move into our next stage of funding and growth, there is an opportunity for the role to transition to paid fractional or full\-time employment.
